Wig care

IN PROGRESS

Unlike us humans, who have a limited amount of hair colours like brown, blond, red and black, anime characters have all kinds of hair colours. Of course you can have blue hair but dying your hair takes alot of time and commitment and excessively colouring your hair could cause all kinds of damage.

How can I become an anime character? The answer lies in wigs!

Wigs come in all colours of the rainbow! Purple, bright red, orange and green are only a few examples. They even come in all kinds of shades like cherry pink, viridian green and vermilion red so you can pick exactly the colour you need rather than making do with what is the closet possible.

Like fabrics, wigs can make or break a costume. In the UK a good wig can cost somewhere between 15-25 quid and you usually get what you pay for. What might be springing into mind right now could be 'Whoa! I have already spend and arm and a leg on a costume? Now I need to pay MORE money now?'

It is widely believed in the cosplay community that it is better to spend a little extra for satisfactory results than to be unhappy with the finishing product because you have chosen the cheaper option. You have worked hard on your costume, your appliqué is perfect, the fabric painting is flawless and you have even gone as far as trying out resin casting for the first time so why not make the entire costume a good one? Even with simple costumes it can make a basic design look absolutely visually stunning! Wigs make that much of a difference!

They also come in different lengths, styles and thicknesses. You can cut them, weft them, style them, dye them and even glue things into them. Some have short bangs and some have long bangs, some curly, some straight. A lot of products you put into your normal you can use in wigs too.
