Make-up

Many beginner cosplayers seem to overlook these as when you think of cosplay you think of the costume. Remember all kinds of aspects must be considered if you want to look your best, and on top of your health (see above) there are still ways you can polish your costume!

Make-up is easily accessible everywhere you go these days and for many is an everyday thing at varying degrees. You will be photographed in costume so why not add a dash of colour to your eyes?

Cosplayers tend to aim for a natural look. This is simply by using make-up of natural skin-tones. The aim is not to look flamboyant, but to remove blemishes and dark circles. Concealers and Foundations are made for that as well as giving your skin a more clearer complexion. BB creams are wonderful as they can create the same effect quickly and easily! However, you can make your own BB cream by mixing Foundation and moisturiser together.

When applied right, mascara and eye-liner can make your eyes look bigger, a desired effect if you are cosplaying a younger character.

If you are cosplaying as...lets say...an apocalypse survivor or anything else that requires fake blood and wounds why not make it look more genuine? Latex, pros-aide, tissue paper and drug-store make-up REALLY can do the job! For general make-up tips there are tutorials on-line and endless videos on Youtube!
